What is a body-protected or cardiac-protected area?
These are patient areas where medical equipment may be connected to a patient, such as theatres, ICUs, emergency bays and treatment rooms. AS/NZS 3003 sets extra electrical safety requirements for them, and they must be tested and certified at regular intervals to stay compliant.
Foster’s Services installs, tests and certifies cardiac and body-protected areas for hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities across WA.
Can you work in a live hospital without disrupting patient care?
Yes. Our medical electrical specialists are trained to work in live healthcare environments. We plan shutdowns, switching and access with your facility team so patient areas stay safe and services keep running.
Is your inspection and testing accredited?
Yes. Foster’s Services is NATA accredited for the ISO 17020 inspection discipline, and certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 55001. Our testing, record-keeping and reporting follow Australian Standards.
